OASES Box
Plant sundail light installation
The "OASES Box" functions as a plant sundial, featuring six strips of full-spectrum LED grow lights around a five-sided box. These lights complete four rotations around the box each day, simulating natural light cycles. A plant positioned in the center of the box rotates, casting shadows that change with the light’s position, providing a dynamic way to mark the passage of time. As the plant grows, these shadows evolve.
Functionally, the OASES Box ensures the plant receives uniform light exposure by rotating on its axis over 24 hours, a condition that is hard to replicate in nature. This setup not only enhances plant growth but also serves as an experiment in controlled growth environments.
