ROOT

Interactive Plant Projections

Root is an audio visual interactive installation that takes the audience through a journey through the lens of a plant. The audience is invited to touch the leaves of the succulent plants. Once there’s contact it triggers nature sounds and distorts the animation projected onto the white terracotta pot

INSPIRATION:

When I moved to downtown Los Angeles in 2017, I began to have a strong desire for indoor plants. The lack of green in my neighborhood made me feel disconnected from nature, The ability to care for a plant indoors fed this void. Later on, a friend informed me how I wasn’t alone, the sales of indoor plants raised by 300% in recent years since more people are moving to urban areas and have the desire to connect with nature. I found this fascinating and want to explore this desire deeper.
